Terms and Conditions of Usage

SIGNING UP AND YOUR MEMBERSHIP

1. You certify that you are 13 years of age or over. All those individuals under 13 years of age will need a full release form from their parents before posting any messages. This is in compliance with the Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act of 2000 (COPPA). Once you enter the forums, click the “Register” button on the top of any page, read the agreement and click “I Agree to these terms and am under 13 years of age”. Follow the instructions from there.

2. All forums may be viewed and read by the public, however you MUST register as a member in order to post to or reply to any posts. This is done for “crowd control” purposes and to prevent undesirable members from returning.

3. When you register, you will be asked to provide a username and password. Usernames that we feel are inflammatory, vulgar, promotional, or rude will be removed. Signing up a username that is a obvious domain name or product name or service/trademark name will be removed. This is out of unfair promotion considerations as well as trademark implications.

4. Registering with the intent of impersonating someone or misrepresenting yourself in your profile is illegal and against the law. Shore Advantage may contact authorities which can result in your arrest.

This actually does not mean anything useful and carries no weight whatsoever in regard to knowledge or privileges – it is just the way the software is set up and is meant to be something fun, nothing more. Please do not post excessively for the sole reason of increasing your post number or rank, as that is absolutely pointless, since we can adjust your post number at any time.

FORUM SECURITY

6. The board is VERY HEAVILY monitored and has many security features in place. We have a very low tolerance for people/groups not abiding to these terms and WE DO NOT GIVE SECOND CHANCES TO ANYONE, as we just do not have the time. ONE infraction is grounds for permanent suspension from the board, with NO opportunity to return. Here are some items that may be considered ground for suspension of membership privileges:

 

a. Links to adult content, pages with links to adult content, near adult content (including model and swimsuit sites), or messages describing anything against the law will be removed as soon as possible. Any discussion of those is off topic and your membership privilege will be suspended.

b. Foul language – we have an extensive list of word censors activated. Any attempt to use an unacceptable word results in you post being “beeped”. After a small number of “beeps”, your membership privilege is suspended.

c. Press releases, newsletters, web pages, or copyrighted content may NOT be inserted into posts. Minor fair use excerpts of less than one paragraph (4 sentences) may be used if the content is publicly available on the internet. All other forms of inserted content from press releases, newsletters, web pages, or any other copyrighted content placed into messages will be removed without exception. A link to the content is acceptable and appropriate.

d. Email excerpts of ANY type or length are not allowed on the pointpleasantbeach.com forums. There are no exceptions to this rule.

e. The forums are not a venue for advertisements in any way. It will be the sole discretion of pointpleasantbeach.com and its moderators as to what constitutes an advertisement. Please don't drop promotional urls. We do allow you to add your website address in your signature ONLY, but not in the body of ANY posts. Shore Advantage has advertising space available in other areas of this website – the forums are NOT one of them. All forums are moderated STRICTLY for commercialized promotional posts. Self promotional URL drops and whisper campaigns are strictly forbidden within the forums and will be edited out.

POSTING GUIDELINES

7. Before posting in a forum, please read the guidelines for that forum. They are usually listed as an “ANNOUNCEMENT” at the beginning of each forum

8. Always be respectful of other users, the system, and the Moderators. We put the system online in good faith; please use it in good faith. Please keep in mind that all Moderators are volunteers and are here to help you.

9. Since this is interactive, and everyone who participates in pointpleasantbeach.com is "in it together", please treat others the way you wish to be treated. One way to guard against misunderstandings is to read over your response before you post it. Flaming: flaming or personal attacks are not allowed or tolerated. Should anyone use inappropriate language, start a personal attack, or engage in hate speech, they will be barred from all further discussions. This forum system is not a venue for personal or private vendetta's. Keep your personal business as just that - personal. This forum is not a venue for the resolution of personal disputes with members or companies.

10. Claims of action, flames, and calls to action against any company or person will be removed.

11. Be descriptive, specific, and succinct in your postings. This way your opinion and point is clearly understood and referenced.

12. Please use descriptive SUBJECTS. Your post will get more attentions if your subject describes your post content.

13. Please stay within the topic area of the forum you are posting a message in, and within any topic that another poster may have started. Because your posting may be more pertinent to another on going discussion, or it might spawn its own thread, it may be moved as a Moderator sees fit.

LEGAL MATTERS

14. Periodically the Moderators of pointpleasantbeach.com will post his or her comments, but they may not necessarily reflect the opinions of NJ MetroNET, Inc./Shore Advantage, pointpleasantbeach.com, or its employees.

15. You agree not to hold NJ MetroNET, Inc/Shore Advantage, pointpleasantbeach.com or its members liable for anything stated within the forums.

16. You are responsible for your own posts and agree not to hold NJ MetroNET, Inc/Shore Advantage, pointpleasantbeach.com liable for any messages posted.

17. You will not copy and retransmit any information out of these forums without first getting the permission of the original author of the message and a pointpleasantbeach.com administrator.

18. Discussions about Moderator or Administrator actions are welcome in email or local private messages, but should not be discussed in public forums. This is out of respect for the members and moderators or policy involved.

19. Messages posted at this site are the sole opinion and responsibility of the poster.

20. Personal exposure. Any posting another members personal details or web site details without permission will be banned.

21. When a message is placed in any forum system, you are granting a soft license to the site to use it.

22. For our part we will do our best to protect your privacy and respect your posts. We will not edit or otherwise misrepresent what you write without cause.

23. We do NOT sell or give your e-mail address or any other information to outside parties.

24. We reserve the right to edit any and all content that has been placed on pointpleasantbeach.com.

25. We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service from time to time without notice and are retro active.
